Andrea Lim is a second-year Ph.D. student in Advertising at The University of Texas at Austin. Her research focuses on fandom cultures, social media, crisis communication, sports media, and consumer behavior. She is particularly interested in how public figures and brands navigate digital redemption and reputation management across diverse cultural contexts. As a mixed methods scholar, Andrea currently leads and collaborates on several research projects examining topics such as fan identity formation in sports fiction, social sanctioning in K-pop fandoms, brand forgiveness in sports, and VR-mediated prosocial behavior. She is a graduate student affiliate of the Center for Sports Communication & Media. Prior to UT, Andrea worked in public relations and advertising in both the U.S. and Malaysia for tech and consumer clients.
