Jeewon Kim is a doctoral student at the Stan Richards School of Advertising and Public Relations at The University of Texas at Austin. Her research interests lie in examining how consumers’ perceptions and interactions with emerging media—such as artificial intelligence and virtual influencers—shape consumer behavior and influence advertising effectiveness.
Prior to joining the PhD program, she spent over five years in the industry as a research analyst and consultant at multinational consulting firms, and later as a community marketing specialist at the Seoul office of a global sportswear retail company. she worked with several multinational clients, including Samsung Galaxy, GS Retail, LG Energy & Solution, Samsung S-One, and SK Energy, and led community-driven marketing projects to support the brand’s entry into and local engagement within the Korean market.
Outside of academia, she’s curious about how culture, tech, and branding intersect—and she is always down for a good conversation about what’s next in our world. Personally, she firmly believes that good coffee and a solid playlist are essential parts of the research process.
