Celebrating MultiCultural Insights: The 2025 Jerome Williams Lecture
Last week, TXADPR proudly hosted the annual Jerome Williams Lecture, a signature event honoring the late ADV&PR professor and trailblazer in multicultural consumer research. This year’s lecture brought a unique global dimension, featuring keynote speaker May O. Lwin, a professor of strategic and health communication from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. Accompanied by a group of 20 graduate students, Lwin offered fresh perspectives on the evolving landscape of advertising and public relations through the enriching international exchange.
Hosted by faculty member Kate Pounders, the event featured a compelling keynote address in the auditorium, an engaging research roundtable, and personal classroom visits and discussions. These personal visits gave students and faculty the opportunity to dive deeper into the industry and shape ideas in a more interactive setting. Throughout the event, discussions centered on the evolving role of multicultural insights in advertising, highlighting the importance of inclusive strategies in an increasingly globalized industry. The roundtable provided a more interactive setting, encouraging thought-provoking discussions and meaningful academic connections.
With a dynamic lineup of speakers and an emphasis on cross cultural insights, this year’s Jerome Williams Lecture reinforced TXADPR’s commitment to fostering inclusive and forward-thinking conversations in the field.
