Let’s Talk About TAPR
Why join TAPR you ask? There are many reasons you should join TAPR, but first, let’s talk about what TAPR actually is.
What is TAPR?
Texas Advertising & Public Relations, AKA TAPR, is the official voice of The Stan Richards School of Advertising & Public Relations, managed by graduate and undergraduate students.
What’s the structure of the class?
TAPR uses a flipped learning approach. The more a student volunteers and puts in effort, the more they will learn and benefit from this class. The course has four different teams that you can choose from but also allows students to overlap and work on multiple teams.
1. Original Content operates like a newsroom and allows for creativity in writing. Being on the content team gives you the freedom to write about topics that you are passionate about while giving you more writing experience. This team has a few sub-groups that include copy editing, video and graphic design.
2. The team added more recently is the Advertising team. On this team, you’ll get experience in creating social media ads and get to work with a real budget to achieve the promotions objectives.
3. You can also choose to be a part of Community Management. This team writes copy for the posts, schedules the posts through Spredfast and monitors what kind of engagement we are getting on our channels.
4. The last team, Analytics, tracks the metrics on each of our posts using the back-end of the platforms, Spredfast, Nuvi, and Google Analytics. Analytics gives a report each week, month and semester to show TAPR’s performance and gives us insights on how we can improve our content to achieve at a higher level.
What channels do we use?
