Since 2014, The School of Advertising & Public Relations’ social media publication, TXADPR, has hosted the TXADPR Bowl, a live-tweeting event on @txadpr held during the Super Bowl. During the event, students in the social media class and others share their thoughts on the year's highly anticipated Super Bowl ads. Aside from tweeting, the team uses Brandwatch, a social listening tool, and audience feedback to track and record audience responses to the ads.
The Lab, launched in the Fall of 2021, is a room built to mimic an agency boardroom. It’s a multi-purpose collaboration space with state-of-the-art technology for podcasting, presentations and live social media listening. The lab hosts coaching sessions, speakers, agency networking, class critiques and senior capstone group meetings.
In the past, Dr. Gary Wilcox, an advertising professor, and the TXADPR team coordinator shared that the TXADPR Bowl “provides us with the opportunity to reach beyond our normal audience and communicate our enthusiasm and excitement about advertising and social media.”
This Sunday, February 12, the team will hold the TXADPR Bowl at Moody College’s School of Advertising and Public Relations, The Lab.
