Concerts at the Moody Center
We’ve always heard that Austin is the “Live Music Capital of the World” and that was well before the Moody Center even opened. So now with the Moody Center, we become the Live Music Capital of the UNIVERSE, right?
The Moody Center is a multi-purpose arena located on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin, bringing music closer to students than ever before. The arena is meant to replace the Frank Erwin Center and has a capacity of 15,000+ seats.
Since opening earlier this year in April, Moody Center has already hosted over 40 events and has an amazing lineup yet to come including: Harry Styles who’s making the Moody Center his House for 6 days, Karol G, Florence + The Machine, Lizzo, Post Malone, Chris Rock and many more.
Seeing that it was meant to replace the Frank Erwin Center, this means that UT’s men’s and women’s basketball games will be held at the Moody Center this year! Other than basketball, rodeos, stand-up comedy shows like Kevin Hart’s, UFC Fight Nights, and Hot Wheels Monster Trucks events have taken place and will continue to take place at the center.
The $375 million arena will also be hosting two home games for the San Antonio Spurs on April 6th and 8th, 2023 against the Portland Trail Blazers and Minnesota Timberwolves, making this the first NBA regular season games to be ever played in Austin.
If you’re a student at UT and you’re interested in music, or basically any kind of events that may take place in Austin, then the Moody Center is definitely going to be your second home. If we had to give one piece of advice, it would be to follow them on Instagram @moodycenteratx and keep an eye out for their frequent giveaways; you may end up going to your favorite artists for free! Hope to see you there!
