Texas Creative Spotlight: Dr. Glenn Griffin
Texas Creative is the creative focused portfolio program within the Stan Richards School of Advertising & Public Relations, in which students acquire skills in art direction and copywriting while developing campaigns. Starting in the Fall 2023 semester, Dr. Glenn Griffin joined the School as the inaugural Director of Texas Creative, and I had the opportunity to speak with him about his background and this new role.
Student Internship Highlight: Allison Finkl (SweatPals)
Allison Finkl, a second year advertising graduate student, is currently a marketing coordinator at SweatPals, an Austin fitness app startup. SweatPals is a social fitness app that has created a space to make the world healthier, happier, and more connected by bringing people together through fitness and health. The app connects users with fitness events, friends, and communities in your area by giving you access to a calendar of events focused on fitness and wellness.

Texas Immersive Student Highlight: Avery Tellam
The Stan Richards School of Advertising and Public Relations’ Texas Immersive Institute aims to “combine audience, storytelling and emerging technology by having students work in teams to turn real-world problems into authentic, memorable, relevant user experiences.”
Student Internship Highlight: Lauren Cervera
Advertising graduate student Lauren Cervera recently finished a nine-month growth marketing internship with LoudCrowd, an Austin tech startup. LoudCrowd is a CRM software that analyzes customer insights for brands including Steve Madden, Gymshark, and Boohoo. Lauren enjoyed getting a taste of the tech world and “the ins and outs of growing a start-up organization” while learning how client brands leveraged their customer marketing and content.
