Texas Creative Student Highlight: Elizabeth Mendoza

Texas Creative is the official creative advertising portfolio program within the Stan Richards School of Advertising and Public Relations at the University of Texas at Austin. Every semester, students apply to this renowned program to hone their copywriting and art direction skills while working on campaigns for various brands and building their portfolios. I had the opportunity to interview Elizabeth Mendoza, an advertising graduate student who is currently in her second semester at Texas Creative.

Final American Advertising Award Winners - Interview w Jared Greer

Jared Greer is a second-year student in the M.A. Advertising program. He recently won one of the American Advertising Awards, arguably the biggest and most comprehensive competition in the advertising profession, drawing more than 25,000 submissions annually in regional AAF Ad Club events. The goal of the American Advertising Awards is to honor and promote excellence in the creative spirit of advertising.

The Science Behind Communication- Moody College of Communication Partners with College of Natural Sciences to Offer New Science Communication Minor

What drives humanity forward? Communication. The original forms of communication include drawings, gestures, and music. Looking back, communicating has not changed much in the last thousand years. Humans depend on communication as a way to survive, without being able to communicate correctly human civilization would have died out a long time ago.

 

SXSW Panel Featuring Natalie Tindall and Bijan Robinson

This year at SXSW, Moody has two great representatives speaking on a featured panel. Bijan Robinson and Natalie Tindall will be speaking on the future of NIL deals and the branding of athletes. This panel will also include Craig Allen, the Chief Creative Officer of CALLEN, the creative agency responsible for Bijan Mustardson as well as many other major clients. Bryan Burney, a marketing manager at Athletes First will also be featured. 

UT Bateman Team’s First Year

The Bateman team is a group of selected PRSSA members by the Director of Advertising and PR, Dr. Natalie Tindall. This year, the UT Longhorn Bateman team is working on providing and offering resources to the Hispanic Community of Austin through their client, The News Literacy Project. It is the first year the Texas PRSSA’s organization is attending the Bateman Competition.
