With graduation right around the corner, many students may be overwhelmed with the thought of jumping headfirst into their internships or careers. It can be inspiring to hear the stories of students who have recently experienced this change and have thrived in their new professional careers.

Before Moody seniors venture out into the real world, their final mission is to work with a real-world client to create an integrated communications campaign. Texas Advertising and Public Relations students work together to tackle this project before venturing out to their first full-time gigs in the industry. 

My name is Emma Weeden, and I am from Fort Worth, Texas. I am a graduating senior majoring in Advertising and minoring in Business. 

What made you decide to come to UT?

This week, TXADPR had the exciting privilege of speaking with Josh Ramirez: UT student, manager and founder of the imagine lab (UT immersive lab), and leader of the imagine lab committee with Texas Immersive, a place that allows for research and testing of new technology. Working closely with both Professor Reilly (director of innovation at UT) and the many students of the Texas Immersive program at UT, he has been vital to the program’s success.

Landing an internship can be difficult, especially if it’s your first one. Even with experience, the process can feel challenging and discouraging. Summer internships are getting closer and there is not better time to prepare than the present. Run over this quick checklist to make sure you are setting yourself up for success.
