Advertising Great, Cliff Freeman, Passes at Age 80

The advertising world has lost one of its greatest this past month. The award-winning copywriter and creative director, Cliff Freeman, has passed away at his home in Manhattan. He was 80 years old. According to his wife, Susan Freeman, the cause of death was due to pneumonia. Throughout the years, Freeman’s sense of humor has been crucial in helping brands stand out in very competitive markets.

Dr. Natalie Tindall joins the TXADPR Publication Team

As The Moody College of Communication has promoted significantly throughout the past month, this Fall, the AD&PR school welcomed a new director, Dr. Natalie Tindall. Before becoming a member of the Longhorn family, Dr. Tindall served in various leadership roles in academia. She was the chair of the Department of Communication and Media at Lamar University, a co-graduate director at Georgia State University in Atlanta, and faculty at the University of Oklahoma. UT Austin Faculty Octavio Kano-Galvan Partners with the Universidad Iberoamericana for a Second Semester

The University of Texas at Austin promotes international programs during the academic year and Professor Octavio Kano-Galvan has had the opportunity to participate in the Texas Global Virtual Exchange (GVE) initiative. NYC Based Agency to Aid in Washington Football Team Rebrand

On July 13, 2020, the Washington Football team decided to retire their Redskins logo and team name after 88 years. The final decision was made when the team issued a statement stating that the team would undergo a review of their past name due to recent controversial events. Following their decision, the team announced that they would go by “Washington Football Team” until they formally decide on a new name and logo.

New Beginnings: Gone to Texas 2021

Another year has begun, meaning it is the start of a brand new cohort at the University of Texas at Austin. Thousands of students from both the 2024 and 2025 cohorts gathered to take part in this year’s “Gone to Texas” celebration. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Gone to Texas 2020 had been moved entirely online, leaving last year’s freshman short of the experience.
