Hailing from India, Pooja has lived and worked in New York City, prior to calling Austin her home for the last few years. She has spent almost a decade in the advertising agency space working at GroupM and GSD&M in strategic media planning on brands like Welch’s, Whole Foods Market and American Petroleum Institute to name a few. Witnessing the industry move more towards data-based models with the advancement in digital media, she identified a void in values-based data-segments, specifically when it comes to activism on social (and emerging) media. That, along with her interest in research and academia led to her interest in pursuing her doctoral degree at UT. She has participated in many industry events, including being on the panel for a discussion on online to offline measurement. She has also guest lectured on digital media at Texas Christian University and Texas State University.
