Jiemin is a doctoral student from the Stan Richards School of Advertising & Public Relations at the University of Texas at Austin. Her research examines public opinion and social persuasion in the contexts of advertising and risk communication. Jiemin’s work analyzes the determinants of public knowledge and perceptions toward emerging and controversial technologies. She also studies how platform, source, and message attributes in prosocial advertising campaigns affect consumers’ attitudes and behaviors. 

In 2022, Jiemin was awarded the Graduate Research Fellowship for early-career researchers from the Social Science Research Council in Singapore. She has also received the Jesse H. Jones Endowed Centennial Fellowship and Moody Graduate Fellowship from the University of Texas at Austin. 

Her papers have won awards for the Top Student Paper and the Best Published Article from the International Communication Association (ICA), Association for Education in Journalism & Mass Communication (AEJMC), and American Academy of Advertising (AAA). She has also published extensively in flagship academic journals, such as Public Understanding of Science, Energy Policy, Energy Research & Social Science, and Environmental Communication.
